I began writing an organic chemistry textbook in The journey has been long and filled with unexpected twists and turns. I had hoped that I might some day see the book on shelves of campus bookstores, but I realized several years ago that this was unlikely. As a result, I decided to post it on the internet. I wanted it to be available to students and faculty for studying and teaching organic chemistry. I have now posted 21 of the 23 chapters.

A Text-Book of Practical Organic Chemistry

This new sixth edition retains its popular delivery oforganic chemistry content in a student-friendly format. Janice Smith continuesto draw on her extensive teaching background to deliver organic chemistry in away in which students learn: with limited use of text paragraphs, and throughconcisely written bulleted lists and highly detailed, well-labeled teachingillustrations. The core of the book is devoted to boundary layer theory with special emphasis on the laminar and turbulent thermal boundary layer. Featuring expert insights, its highly efficient format conveniently condenses and simplifies must-know content for maximum yield and minimum time. The text covers the foundations of bilingual and ESL education who the students are, what the policies are and have been, the role and development of language and culture and provides a strong focus on what the teacher needs to know in a bilingual classroom such as instruction strategies, teaching in content areas, assessment, and working with students with special needs. The new, 13th edition is the latest and most exciting revision of a respected introductory biology text written by authors who know how to reach students through engaging writing, interesting issues and applications, and accessible level.

As assiduous readers and lovers of all the knowledge we can get from a book, we feel committed to the task of providing texts, so that everyone can access really important and useful information. Organic chemistry also known as carbon chemistry, is the branch of chemistry that is dedicated to the study of a vast range of molecules that have carbon in their composition, and which also form covalent bonds such as carbon-carbon and carbon-hydrogen, also known as organic compounds. At first organic chemistry was confused with biochemistry , since the chemistry of life is based mainly on carbon chemistry. Since urea was first synthesized in a laboratory, and organic chemistry was shown to be essentially no different from ordinary chemistry, gigantic advances in both theory and methodology have been made, thousands of organic compounds have been synthesized and explained, and entire branches of the industry are based on organic chemical reactions.
